A company that values its users would be open to third party clients in order to learn what features are important to those users. Musk has shown he doesn't care about user experience. He'll be rewarded with fewer users.

If Twitter had any real concerns about spam or privacy, they would have announced the policy change in advance, or started a dialogue with the developers. I don't even understand what third-party apps have to do with spam.

Instead they retroactively changed the developer rules, days after they disabled access.
